Kimberly Slavicek was born in 1954 in suburban Philadelphia. Kim moved with her husband in 1975 to central Florida after he was transferred to work in aeronautical engineering for the government. She established a small hobby and painting supply shop while raising her son, Benjamin. After selling her interest in the business, Kim moved to Tallahassee and has since followed her passion and interest in natural photography. She focuses her photography on landscapes and botanical subjects. Her goal is to capture nature in its simplest forms, but yet in a way that adequately depicts the intricacies and marvels of her subjects. Kimberly Slavicek focuses on the art in photography of nature rather than the more commercial pursuits of class pictures, weddings and portraits. Kim loves the photographic beauty of Florida with its lush landscapes and glistening beaches, but also very much enjoys photography in the California and Arizona deserts, as well as the rugged Colorado mountains. Kimberly’s other hobbies include writing, oil painting, studying Native American history and visiting with her family, including her three grandchildren. Kimberly loves to vacation in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Scottsdale, Arizona. There, Kimberly spends her time with her passion, photography.
